On the western boundary the tomb
of Robert Adam's father, William Adam - Mausoleum
of William Adam,
died 1748, by John Adam, 1753. Round-arched entrance at the E, thermal
openings at N and S formed by later infilling under the arches.
Entablature with rams' skulls and rosettes between the triglyphs. Dome
inside, carried on a circular cornice. Large inscription panels, the
principal one at the W with a portrait bust of William Adam and a
tomb-chest, its front carved with Hopetoun
